A Love of Adventure: Yvon Chouinard

A few years ago I sat in a small classroom in Boston awe-struck for nearly two straight hours. I’ve heard a lot of great entrepreneurs talk. I’ve watched a lot of great entrepreneurs in action and have read the stories of exponentially more. But, few have truly made the impact on my life and entrepreneurial philosophy like Yvon Chouinard. As a web entrepreneur, my life is a daily adventure…the industry simply changes so quickly. But, no matter your industry and no matter your business, if you don’t love adventure you better close up shop and walk away. Continue reading

Humility: Jonathan Bush

There are a lot of “pop entrepreneurs” out there and this blog has even focused on some of them. Richard Branson is a celebrity the likes of the biggest actors or athletes in the world and many of the others I have profiled have been splashed on the front of newspapers and magazines. Yet, the great thing about all of those entrepreneurs I have profiled so far is that they are all humble and many of them could well prove the importance of humility. Persistence: Tom & Tom

There is a saying that entrepreneur success stories are often 10 year overnight success stories. To the outside world, a company comes out of nowhere, makes all the right decisions, makes all the right products and is immediately on the front of inc. magazine after cashing out for a pile of cash.
